In November 2017 I embarked on a journey that took me completely out of my comfort zone. I traveled alone to a country that made my friends and family express great concern and near-confusion as to why I would want to do this. Almost everyone I knew (including my neighbors), seemed so incredibly relieved when I came back home in one happy, fulfilled and content piece.
I recently visited London, England for the first time. The surprise highlight of my trip was visiting Freddie Mercury‘s Garden Lodge estate. Read more
Jo-Anna Downey was the heart of the Toronto comedy scene and gave so many comedians their start. She was this wonderful blend of sassy and kind that made it impossible to dislike her. I interviewed her several times while at j-school (that’s what us cool kids called journalism school) in 2011 and she was not only generous with her time (and free beer), but so easy and open to chat with. I’ve never been so excited for a concert in my life. Read more

Once upon a time when I was in high school, I saw an actor I had always liked who was now struggling and getting nothing but negative publicity. He effed up every other week it seemed. He was a mess. The Internet back then was very small. Dial-up modems were a thing. YouTube, Facebook and Twitter didn’t exist. When doing a search on this guy, there were no bios, interviews or fun backstories to be found. Just article after article about his current troubles and oh what a terrible person he was. Read more
